An Australian AF C-17A is currently inbound Ramstein. At 13:17LT he is switching to RS GCA 140.900 and he is using callsign Ausy601.
SBS shows A41-209 for this one.
Nice one!!

That's a great visitor! Where is it parked? Even if it might not depart tomorrow, it would be nice to catch him from the outside!

The C-17A is parked on Ramp 4 spot 3. This is next to the Tower. You can see the C-17A from Kindsbach hill. Total from the side.

Hmm one of the worst places for a picture. Thanks for the info. I hope someone will be able to tell the ETD.

Re: ETAR 05-11-2011
The reason for the Aussie C-17 in Ramstein is probably that 7 injured Australian soldiers were evacuated to Landstuhl US military hospital after a Taliban attack on a Australian barracks in Afghanistan on the 29th October when 3 other Austrailan soldiers were regretablly killed.

Yes the C-17A load 4 patients this morning. She depart at 09:22 to OMDM Minhad AB, Dubai. She came yesterday from the same airport at 13:23 as ASY 601.
She used the same callsign this morning on her flight back home.
