Roadrunning F-104 near Soest
Seen this morning by a colleague on the back of a lowloader was Starfighter D-8300. This is the one that was given to artist Marthe Röling in the past, in the north of The Netherlands. Rumour had it already for some time that it was going back to the KLu due to the asbestos-panic, and apparently this indeed happened.
It was seen on the A1 near Soest, driving towards Amersfoort. My guess is, that it was on its way to Soesterberg. Hopefully it will be visible during the next open depot days!

Re: Roadrunning F-104 near Soest
Does anyone know if the scrapping will be done immediately, or will there still be a (slim) chance to catch this bird before she's gone forever?

For those who don't know: the village where D-8300 was located is a bit "off the beaten track" for most Dutchmen.

The F-104G D-8300 is at a compount of the Domeinen ( at Camp Soesterberg at the Zeisterspoor in Soesterberg )
together with F-104G D-8098, D-8338, NF-5A K-3029 and the cockpitsections of a F-84F and NF-5A K-3045. Also
the rear fuselage of F-84F P-248 is there with some other parts from F-104's and NF-5's.
