Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |
De Kooy slope C-130
Belgium C-130 using the slope for a jump start. That's something else than a Cougar or Apache on a slope!!!!

In fact I just was lucky to make this shot (in every way). When I arrived he was already taxing to the runway and in my sprint to the photo spot, I noticed that I had only one photo left on my CF card.
In the end after erasing the card I had no more than 20 seconds left.
De Kooy september 19 17.00 hrs.

Re: De Kooy slope C-130
Cohaba, don't you believe the photo is for real? or that the C-130 is using the slope? Well the photo is real and about the second judge for your self?
Here are a 2 photos from a moment sooner and later.

Hmmm, that's a relatively steep climb...
November 2024 update at FokkerNews.nl....
Re: De Kooy slope C-130
Wasthe first picture captured while it was in reverse-hover?
Me like this sort of stuff.
but a Q: from a believer (!) but a non-local : is that spot legal accessible by foot and / or by car?

Re: De Kooy slope C-130
Glidepath,
I took the photo from a grass field beside the acces road to the golf course op MVKK. It is artikel 461, but no one will bother you. This acces road is a side road of "De Kortevliet". The C-130 was busy all afternoon, so it was not to heavy for this climb.

Re: De Kooy slope C-130
It's from spot 5 I think. As long as you don't park on the road itself it's not too much of a problem normally, but be aware, the gate can be used as a crash-gate. In the past I've been sent away just once (or, someone tried to), but this wasn't too succesful, as fellow board-member boeij took care of the person that tried to send us away.

Re: De Kooy slope C-130
Is this slope on the golf-course or on "De Kooy" itself for use by helicopters?
