Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Grey, grey, grey.....
Hi guys,
This week I have been playing about with Photo Mechanic, Photoshop, Lightroom and Photomatix Pro. My goal was to try out some new things and just have a bit of fun with my shots. While at it I thought about grey aircraft, grey skies and grey circumstances. This inspired me to fiddle a bit in black and white, and this is just a first result. Hope you like it...
Shot at 1/60 sec, f22, ISO 200, 165mm with a Canon EOS-1D Mark IV and a Canon EF 70-200/2.8L IS (if you're still interested)
Cheers,
Iwan

Iwan if you like playing with Black and White settings try Silver efex photoshop plugin by Nik software (free trial on their website) While expensive it can make photos look totally different:

Hi Graham, thanks for the tip ! No need to worry about hi-jacking "my" thread, as I was hoping for a response like this. The more, the merrier.
Re-discovering black & white is fun. Let's see what others have.
Cheers,
Iwan

Hi Gio,
Nice shots ! What did you do to achieve the vignetting (darker corners) ? Did you use a special setting or did you do it manually on each individual photo ?
Cheers,
Iwan
