Re: Afghanistan
Great set again (all of you by the way!) Really operational stuff, kudos!!
one thought slips to mind; billions are spent developing new advanced helo's, and all I see here doing the heavy work are old designs like the 'simple' Mi-8/17, S-61, Puma, H-53 and vintage (though updated ofcourse) Chinooks, all very "mature" designs...

Re: Afghanistan
technically, its a PZL M-28, not the Antonov An-28, although they are similar. But yeah, its one of the ASFOC ones.TAZZ wrote:Once again, a great set of wonderful shots !

oh and thanks Tazz and Polecat!
I have appx. 50 GB of photos from the deployment, possibly more, but only the last 4.5 months of the deployment I have access to! My computer decided to ==censored== out and I can get back to all the photos once it is fixed. The ones I have shared so far are all since February.
Re: Afghanistan
Thanks for sharing - some very interesting stuff in there and I love the head-on Chinook shots. Also the MH-47 shots are very nice. Stay safe out there!

Don't have any information about this Afghan Helicopter Operator either, the carrier remains a mystery.

Re: Afghanistan
Yup, 261F S-61N is a regular where I was based at while over there. Actually stayed there overnight most nights while I was there. Got tons of shots of it. Will share some tomorrow maybe.
