Maybe a bit much, but couldn't choose! The MiG-29's came for a fuelstop together with a PoAF C-130E, but missed that one due to a lack of time. They where on their way to Yeovilton, with a bit of luck they visit Leeuwarden again next monday!

Cheers!

Nice pics Coenraad! Does anyone know why some Mig 29's use one engine during landing while other Mig 29's use two?
(nr 38 seems to use two while nr 15 uses one...)

Hi,
if I look to the pictures, I would say both aircraft use both engines. From both aircraft a smoke trail could be seen. Perhaps it has to do with the angle of view towards your screen?

Normally a pilot will only land a dual engine aircraft on one engine to train for emergencies. Doing that in a non-emergency situation will simply increase the chance of a mishap. And that is what pilots always strive to avoid.

I noticed that too, only one engine was used on final. If it was for training they had to call tower with a simulated emergency, which they didn't.

Or the use of trust in order to maneuver the aircraft? By the way i have also seen this with Slovakia MiG-29s. So it seems it is in the manual.
Assume makes an ASS of U and ME.

Yes, it is not unusal. But it beats me why they do it. For maneuvering at that altitude i would prefer to have full trust available and just use rudder, ailerons etc.. But hey, I'm not a pilot
