Maybe a strange question, but was is the DoS Airwing (Department of State ?) ?

Is this something like Air America was in the past ?

What's that guy doing so close near (on) the runway on picture nr2 with the IL-76 overhead? Is that guy supposed to clean that white stuff near the threshold? :worship:

What a FAN-TAS-TIC photo report!
Good light! Sharp pics! Alot of rare birds!

I have some questions about some planes:
1) is the An-26 Curl still in service with the Afghan air force? I thought they were wfu in december 2010
2) are the Seaking-like choppers (N61nh and N364fh) the S-61T Triton ordered specialy for use in Atan?

And once again, thank you for sdharing all these wonderful pics!

Oh man this topic just keeps getting better and better. Those 'Little Birds' are pretty rarely photographed I think!
are the Seaking-like choppers (N61nh and N364fh) the S-61T Triton ordered specialy for use in Atan?
I doubt that; according to several sources on the web (thank you Google), S-61T's are refurbished SH-3's, so ex-mil versions. The N61NH and N364FH are 'civil' S-61N's registered to EP Aviation.
By the way, EP stands for Erik Prince, the former owner of Xe, better known as Blackwater. So I guess these S-61's are flying their mercenaries eh sorry I mean security personnel around.

I'll upload some additional shots at the weekend. (have to search for some nice ones at my harddrive)
