Hello,
Last Wednesday I came back from a week of holiday/spotting at Larnaca with Scramble member mreddo.
Larnaca Airport isn't a very populair spotting destination (yet). But we thought, there is a hotel with a beach on the approach-route so it can't be that bad. After all I can cunclude it's a wonderfull airport with some exotic and unexpected movements! On monday and friday there is the Scandinavian invasion and on wednesday you got the British invasion. Almost every day you get some nice heavy Russians as Transaero B742, B743, B763, almost every day an Aeroflot IL96, twice weekly Rossiya with a B763, twice weekly Nordwind with B752 and some CRJ-600's of Air Volga (RusLine).
Here are the photos, I hope you'll enjoy them!

1. Our hotel while approaching Larnaca. It's the one with the flamingo on it. Our room was at the corner on the third floor!
2. Just after landing, the first suprise!
3. Then we checked-in at our hotel and went to the beach. This was flying instead of the A300.
4. Haven't seen this one with winglets before!
5. Heavy metal from the UK
6. The 5-weekly flight from Cairo.
7. Twice daily the same EK airplane. It's doing DXB-LCA-MLA-LCA-DXB every day

8. While driving along the airport we saw this beauty on the tarmac. Unfortunately we missed the arrival.
9. Nordwind going back to Novosibirsk
10. Gulf Air Embraer, glad I cought that one.
11. Anyone for some info about this one?
12. Another Russian business-jet
13. A nice embraer from UAE!
10-06-2011
14. Arkia ATR in bad light..
15. Same for this Bulgarian Air Charter. Doing a flight for Bulgaria.
16. Let's start with the Scandinavian invasion
17. TuiFly Nordic
18. And a heavier one.
19. Etihad A320, you don't see them everywhere!
20. Ah.. the invasion kept going on.
21. Nice colors!
22. Regular colors, also great.
23. Another one you don't see every day.
24. Second Arkia that day, this time with better light and the new colors.
25. And a nice end of the day. Royal Jordanian Cargo from Athens.
11-06-2011
26. The day started with a great suprise from Belarus! Wow!
27. We asked a local bar-owner to get on his roof-terrace. And that was possible for 10 minutes.
28. Three Ukrainians that day. Two 737-500's,
29. And this nice heavy.
30. Stragetic flying in from the UK.
31. The same for this SkyWings.

It's a Do228-212 of the Italian Army (= Esercito, written below the cockpit). The code is clearly visible: EI-103. That should make it MM62158, c/n 8209.any one for some info about this one?
Nice airport indeed! Maybe I should convince the family to spend a week on the beach there...
