And according to the French Ministry of Defence ( http://www.defense.gouv.fr/operations/a ... n-equipage ), the Mirage 2000D was in a two-ship formation with a French Mirage F.1CR flying in support of Italian ground forces when the accident happened about 100km west of the town of Farah (West-Afghanistan). Crew was rescued after 1hr 30 m by American forces and taken to the Italian forward post at Farah before returning to Kandahar. The crash site was secured by Italian troops.

Do someone know 612 was on display on an airshow or was part in an TLP exercise?
Re: French Mirage2000 crashed 24-05-2011
It was at the 1995 airshow at Kleine Brogel, for it's worth.
All it takes is a piece of paper and a pencil, btw

Mirage 2000D 612 as 330-AX from ECE5/330 Cote d'Argent in better times, on static Kleine Brogel, Sept 1995.

How does the ejectionseat on the M2000 work actually.. They both ejected but the canopy's are still on the aircraft.. Does both pilots now have an extreme headache?
Glad they are okay BTW.. I just tought i caught this aircraft at KB somewhere, but that was a different aircraft wearing the 330-AX code..

Hey Felipe,
if you look closer you'll recognize that only the canopy frames are present.
The pilots were fired through the canopy glass.
Glad they stayed unharmed.
Cheers,
ROB
