Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Hi Maikel
Very very nice set!
But are you sure it was the sixt of May? I was also there on the sixt of May and I saw the A6-EDH A380 instead of the A6-EDI? Or where there multiple A380 flights from Emirates? I was there from 10:30 and begun on the famous hill.
A6-EDH

I definitely have to get a pint at that place in the back sometime. What a view.
I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.

it's the the airport hotel
been there 3 times now simple and cheap.not the best food and old fashioned rooms but hey who cares.
will be there again this year, waiting for the new footbal season (need the home playing dates) to visit Man united.
also Delta with the A330 and an Emirates 330

Emi is regular in the morning. 3 daily flights in the morning with a A330 at 12:30 an A380 and in the evening a 777.
Delta normally operates 767's don't know about this one.

How's the sound isolation of the Airport Hotel? From this angle it rather looks like a "hardcore-spotter-place-to-stay" to me. You may not get that much sleep during the night, right?

Re: Manchester 06-05-2011
During the night are not that much movements, some dash 8's but that's it.
Re: Manchester 06-05-2011
hehehe depends on how much beer you had
when you sleep you sleep.....
and its a nice wake-up call in the morning.
from the 3 times been there 2 times had the room that faces the runway and had no problems, only when a jet departs I woke up for a minute and then fall asleep again.
as said its not that bizzy in the night only some movements, and it starts around 7 in the morning so nice time to get up and go downstairs for the english breakfast at 7.30 am.
for the photographers around us the morning is not the best spot to be in the hotel as the sun is against you.so you have to leave the hotel and go or to the terminal/parking garage or the other side of the airport(left-side can be walked and to go the right site you need a car)
also in the morning they uses 2 runways( well all the 3 times I've been there) the one at the hotel for the arrivals and the one far away for the departures.
here's my trip report of the last time....
greetings Ton
