Amazing Amsterdam
Not sure I should´ve located the right date and posted there, but here goes:
Visited AMS last week while driving from Copenhagen to London. AMS was the perfect stop for a day break from driving.
Gotta love Amsterdam. Spent just the one day there and its Amazing how many angles and views you can get over course of just a day. The variety offered would be impossible to get at Copenhagen, my home airport.
In no particular order:
Love that row of trees in the background - makes even a KLM Fokker look good:
Two highlights in one - Martin Retro and shooting at the canal-bridge crossing towards Polderbaan:
Almost looks better the old 747 did - cleaner anyway:
Just an Aeroflot but great spot:
Short finals for 06 just after sunrise - love the shadow thrown on the flaps next to the right (left seen from here) engine:
Three-triples from the terrace:
A week later (that would be one of these days) and the sun would have risen between the buildings - Its all about timing isn´t it?
Got the timing just right here - Strobe - Click!
New kid on the block - Corendon Dutch Airlines:
Lumps are just so photogenic:
Gleaming in the rising sun:
Another strobe - this one on the wing:
I wonder how long to go for these blue beauties!?
Colin caught it too - while balancing on a railing dangerously close to the cold canal water:
My last shot that day:
China Southern was quite exotic and arrived in gorgeous light:
Delta A330´s can become quite boring at AMS, but then you can go for an arty angle:
Even Vueling was snapped. Gotta love them canals:
Amazing - my first CRJ1000:
Korean had a treat for us - Special colors:
We were not the only ones enjoying the canal-bridge and Korean:
Not long to go this - Soooo glad I caught it:
Nothing like close ups - Emergency exit:
The end - with a KLM 747 landing about 5 minutes before sunrise - had to get up early for this:

Extremely well done, what a great collection Egon.
As for the MD-11s, about three more years I've been told.

Amazing shots from Schipol and taken at places we usually don't see everyday. I JUST have to go to Amsterdam this summer, and the channel crossings will be on the top 3 places to spot from.

Re: Amazing Amsterdam
As a matter of fact, Erik, KLM has the intention to get rid of its oldest MD11 before a next D-check is neccessary, which is in the beginning of 2014.Key wrote:Extremely well done, what a great collection Egon.

The oldest MD11s will probably soldier on for another year of 2 after that.....

Very nice pictures! Could you tell me where you took picture 1? Is that on the north side of TWY Victor, in the morning?
