Trip Finkenwerder-Copenhagen-Hamburg-finkenwerder 'HEAVY!!!'
Good afternoon all,
on the 29th of april we departed for Copenhagen to do some spotting for 1 week there,
but we couldn't drive the whole distance in once so we had our route plannend out
Finkenwerder-Copenhagen-Hamburg fuhlsbuttel-Finkenwerder
so we drove off around 02:00 and arrived in 'finky' around 08:15,
on our way we met german friends who would join us on this trip
starting at Finkenwerder:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5. delivery flight for this TK A321 TC-JRO to IST
6.
7. delivery flight from this nice Vietnam A321, Dep to Baku as vietnam 323
8.
9. blank frontier arriving from TLS
10. first A319CJ for Rossiya departing to TLS
before we left the spotting hill we heard from some locals that there should be a Shenzen A320 come in around 19:00 on delivery flight from TLS so we decided to go to the afternoon/evening spot...
11.
12. and here it was the Shenzen A320 on delivery flight from TLS, for fuel stop at Finky
we were very lucky with such traffic!
after the shenzen we went to the hotel in HAM and got some sleep,
next morning departed to CPH Via the puttgarden-rodby ferry
13. the ferry
around 12:00 we arrived in CPH,
and we went directly to the Flyvergrillen to Meet Mr. Silverwingpix
we got some great tips from him about spotting and was nice meeting him
14.
15. on the Iceland express flight the Iron Maiden 757 came in we saw it landing 04L after that they started take off 22R! here on T/O
16.
17.
18. Surprise! this A340 from NRT landed 22R very nice site
19.
20. Fokker 50 still going strong on CPH
after that we checked in our hotel for some sleep and starting next day at 09:00
RW's: 04L landing, 04R take off
Thanks to MR silverwingpix we had a great spot at 04L

29. then the departure off this stunning bird again
30.
and we called it a day, monday we went to CPH city to do sight seeing wich was very nice
so back on tuesday again at the airport...
RW's: 22L landing, 22R take off later changed 04L / 04R

then after 1 week of great fun, everything was over again and we had to go home...
we thanked the germans for the great company and we drove home after 6,5 hours of driving we arrived back in spijkenisse again

Very nice Trip-report !!!
Interesting to see the Rossiya AN-148 has an advertisement on the fuselage of "Ilyushin Finans Company"...
Also nice to include both the CPH and HAM spotting spots

Re: Trip Finkenwerder-Copenhagen-Hamburg-finkenwerder 'HEAVY!!!'
Fantastic report Rutger. I have a couple of questions for you about the Finkenwerder spotting positions. Do you have some google coordinates for the RW 23 harbor spotting tower, and is it open for the public or can we risk beeing chased away by the local police?
I'm going there tomorrow Monday, so maybe you won't see this before then, but then I know for future reference.
BTW. How many mm are needed for the RW23 shots, will a 300mm be enough?
Greetings from Denmark
Jlund

Re: Trip Finkenwerder-Copenhagen-Hamburg-finkenwerder 'HEAVY!!!'
Jlund,
thanks for your question...
I will post it on this topic because it maybe usefull for some other people as wel...
first off all the coordinates of the parking position for this place is:
53°32'30.79"N
9°51'26.95"E
there will be a small round about where you can park your car at...
on the left you will see a big red round tower with stairs you are allowed to get in there from that spot you have an great over view over finkenwerder
only if that runway is in use else you can drive to the offical position at RW05
coordinates for position RW05 are:
53°31'51.73"N
9°49'52.31"O
there was no police at all when we were there...
and about the mm, I got a beluga landing at RW23 with about 92MM (picture 81)
and the Air china A321 (picture 83) I made with 170mm so you will be fine there with 300mm please note the heatwaves offcourse...
for the RW05 spot 300mm is also fine
here a little map for spot at RW23:
red= driving
blue= parking
yellow= walking
I heard that the Orange A320 from EZY should do a rejected take off test tomorrow!!
so I hope you get some nice shots
thanks for your question...
