This is the only known video of the crash of IRIAF's only AWACS, IL-76MD "Simorgh" in September 2009.

The video was shot from a leading Boeing 707 tanker boom operator's vantage point. You can see the plane going down in flames in the background.

It is believed that it collided with an IRIAF F-5E escort plane on route to Iran-Iraq War anniversary fly-by in southern Tehran.

All crew were killed.

you can see the fuselage cut off behind the wing, and the left wingtip is missing as well.
