Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).
Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.
I went this morning to Gilze-Rijen to shoot some Apaches. Runway 10 was in use and two Apaches of 301 sqn (Redskins) were on the flightline. Lucky for me both Apaches used taxitrack "Lima". That resulted in these two pics.

The south of the Netherlands are having schoolholidays so it was crowded. After the Apaches took off the whole bunch moved to the slopes and within a half hour the Q17 practised at the slopes. I left at one o'çlock with still several helicopters flying around. ... Probably more pics will follow of this day.
FYI:
In all pictures shown the last couple of weeks about EHGR, runway 28, the grass is still low. Now temperatures are rising the grass will start to grow. Due to environmental rules the grass will not be mowed anymore at EHGR till october.
Same story for the hedge at runway 28. It will not be pruned till october. Meaning take a stepladder with you to shoot over the hedge. March and early April is still good but as from late April, May take this information in consideration.
... so go to EHGR on time to shoot pics with the grass still low.
Looking at the weather forecast this tuesday (15-3) and wedensday (16-3) will be perfect days to visit EHGR. Only keep in mind EHGR has nightflying on mondays till thursdays.
People who love to shoot sunset pics at EHGR can also take the chance to shoot Apaches during sunset at the end of runway 28. This upcoming tuesday eastern winds are expected. Normally this will mean the Apaches will leave direction Tilburg! Apaches flying straight into your lens with a sun setting in the back. ....This tuesday evening I expect to see a whole bunch of aviation photograpers to shoot this amazing spectacle (including myself).
Nice info on the grass and hedge Edward! Low grass indeed makes the pictures more beautiful.
I have plans to go on Tuesday evening to take another chance on sunset flights. I'm not able to go on monday because we have a footballgame then.
