A fly-by done by an E-6 Mercury TACAMO. You don't see that at every American airshow...

Hi DJ,

Hereby on what I got on China Lake. They arrived already on Thursday and I got there Friday. This one was taken on the ramps around 6.50AM hence the lighting is kind of interesting. Also some other shots during early morning.
Hope you like them, for some reasons the shots come out a bit soft so I need to figure out what I am doing wrong when I post them here.

Hmmm...

I do wonder at what time/date the painting of the "1960s test colours" scheme was finally finished as this "one-off" was only published by Navair the Friday before the show...

Wooha, yummie stuff!

Interesting to see how retro schemes work. To my taste, the VP-6 P-3 looks great while the Prowler (unfortunately) is a misfit. Those colours belong to tail draggers with big radials up front. Having said that, I love every one of them. The helo formation is an awesome shot. :worship:

How come there is such a vast difference between the nice 'sparkling' pics of Pieter and the less sparkling nice pics of Elenten?
What where camera settings and / or What PC-processing settings?

Great c/s'ses BTW, and for what its worth, a Prowler always looks great, and believe you me, I like this scheme beaucoup!

Great collection of colour schemes in these pictures!

'There is no disputing about tastes'.....in other words, I think the both the P-3 and the Prowler look fabulous in these colours. To my opinion, the blue/grey scheme suits the Prowler much better than the Growler in Eriks last picture. But then, which colour scheme wouldn't.....
