REQ.: Nellis, Davis Monthan and Holloman open day

Post by Arthur79 »

Hi folks,

I am planning a trip to the US in October 2011, in which I entend to take a look at Nellis, Davis Monthan and attend the open day at Holloman.

Does anybody knows if there are some days with less flights at Nellis or Davis Monthan? Also I wonder if there are some spots in the surroundings of Las Vegas or Tucson where I could see bird in flight; flight to or from the shooting ranges (of the shooting itself but that's not going to happen haha).

Also I couldn't find anything about the open day, I would like to know what the time table looks like, especially start and end times.

Finally I am making a trip from Phoenix, thru Las Vegas to Bonneville, down to Holloman, Tucson and back to Phoenix. If anybody knows any cool places (abandonned airport with some scrap or places like Pinal Air Park) it would be highly appreciated!

Thanks,
Arthur

Hi,

DM will be closed for a few months this year because of runway repairs. I was on base today and heard that it might be 'in the course of this year'. It was planned to start in december already, but was postponed.

Regards,
Oscar

Oscar,

Do you know where the A-10's will be heading to?
