Woodford - Where Nimrods go to die...

Post by MartinNeedham »

I thought that these shots from last Saturday might be of interest. BAE Systems are currently in the process of scrapping the Nimrod MRA4s following the cancellation of the project in last October's Strategic Defence and Security Review.

If it stops raining, then I should at some point be able to go and get some shots of the aircraft at night.

Nice pics, I'd love to see them at night

I thought the Nimrods were to be equiped with CFM56s?

Thanks for the comments.

Martijn, the Nimrod MRA4 used Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofans.

Cheers,
Martin

Thanks much for putting up your quality photos. But most aviation enthusiasts will either feel rather sad seeing them or have their blood boil over with rage... :(

Sadly another era goes by. I have only four pictures of this great plane.
I'm with Jim: :bawl:
