Wittmund F-4's and Skyhawks Air-to-Air
Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Re: Wittmund F-4's and Skyhawks Air-to-Air
Let's put it this way: You could travel to the US, Japan or South America to shoot aircraft during base-visits, airshows or from the fence or you could shoot aircraft air-to-air over the North-Sea. It's such a rush shooting from the Skyvan that I don't want to sit for 24 hrs in an airliner and drive hundreds of kilometers in a rental to shoot Skyhawks or Phantoms from the ground!warthog64 wrote:nice stuff!, but was wondering what was the $$ for taking these?

I hope to see you at the next air-to-air academy, Roel! After that, the "only" thing you have to organize is for some Warthogs to join-up behind our photo-ship. Slow speed shouldn't be an issue for them and they don't make for "boring" head-on shots like this one.

Nice stuff gents would like to see an A-10 up close behind the caravan.
Will keep an eye on the site for future events unfortunately no budget this year for that sort of things.
I was lucky last year to go on the B25 photo flight at Fort Worth Alliance......
Hey Mickey I hope you don't fall asleep next time when you make some more boring shots, or are you already a little bit spoiled subject wise

No worries! And I don't get sick either. It's not comfortable, but very rewarding . It never gets old.
Some people here seem to think head-on shots are boring, well, they aren't if you're shooting them . Especially when the Phantoms pass underneath you and you feel and hear their rumble. Everyone on board was whooping!
