Coleman Barracks (ETOR) - 2011 MIL
L.S.
I had a look at Coleman which is very busy these days. In total 32 Blackhawks weer seen of which quite a large number were identified. On FF a list was published of the ones close to the fence. But these are also switching with the others on the otherside. So if you're still in need of some USAR Europe UH-60's go en get them as long as they last.
Coleman Barracks 15jan11
-------------------------
UH-60L 95-26637,95-26641,(95-26)645 3-158th AVN
UH-60L 95-26649,95-26651,95-26652 3-158th AVN
UH-60L 95-26655,96-26675,96-26676 3-158th AVN
UH-60L (96-26)677,96-26678,96-26679 3-158th AVN
UH-60L 96-26683,96-26684,96-26685 3-158th AVN
UH-60L 96-26686,96-26687,96-26692 3-158th AVN
UH-60L 97-26763,97-26766 3-158th AVN
UH-60L (88-26)054,(82-23)756,(88-26)039 Co c, 1-214th AVN
UH-60L? (05-27?)060 Co c, 1-214th AVN
AH-64D 4x
All the above units have been assumed. 18 were parked near the fence partially still with folded rotors. Two of the above were seen on a test flight. The 060 I'm quite positive of this serial. All the Medevac Blackhawks where parked on the otherside, so I was only able to identify them by means of the last three in the whte cross. Could this one be a new one? The other (88-26)060 crashed some time ago, and the 05-27062 was seen on Ramstein together with other Ansbach Blackhawks back in November.
Have all the above been transported by ship to Coleman?
BR,
Jeroen

Re: Coleman Barracks (ETOR) - 2011 MIL
Is there something special going on or are all these blackhawks USARE helicopters that have returned back from Irak/Afghanistan recently? I think I missed something???

Re: Coleman Barracks (ETOR) - 2011 MIL
Are those 158 AVN UH-60's still at Coleman or have they departed towards Ansbach yet?
Re: Coleman Barracks (ETOR) - 2011 MIL
Hi Wonju666,
Last weekend (on January 9th) at least 12x UH-60L were standing on the dispersals near the fence with their rotors still folded. I suppose these still need attention and most of them are probably still there, but possibly some have moved inside the hangars or to the active ramp for test flying.

Re: Coleman Barracks (ETOR) - 2011 MIL
Did some research today at the website of the 598th Transportation Group/838th Transportation Battalion, responsible for all transports.
The 20 Blackhawks from Ansbacj arrived abord the MV Prestige New York, arriving at the port of Antwerp on December, 8th 2010 out of Shuaybah, Kuwait. They were loaded on to the MS Vera on the 16th of December and the ship departed the 17th to Lampertheim where it arrived the 20th of December.
The MS Vera again returned to Antwerp via Rotterdam and it arrived again yesterday in the area of Worms (so Lampertheim). No idea what the cargo is, but we still expect some choppers for KFOR14 these days. So if somebody could check?
But these amounts of choppers are peanuts compared to what arrives in Rota for airfreighting to Iraq/Afghanistan! See the other thread http://forum.scramble.nl/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=69773.
BR,
Jeroen

Re: Coleman Barracks (ETOR) - 2011 MIL
(96-26)687 UH-60L 3-158th Avn has a stylized eagle or something like it on the nose. Does that make this a B Co. bird?

Re: Coleman Barracks (ETOR) - 2011 MIL
Seems plausible as B Co is called "War Eagles" (honoring the traditions of former 203 AvCo). A Co "Blue Stars" keeps the heritage of former 48 AvCo alive.Arjan wrote:(96-26)687 UH-60L 3-158th Avn has a stylized eagle or something like it on the nose. Does that make this a B Co. bird?
