Le Bourget 20-23+24-26 June

Going this year for the first time to Le bourget so I was wondering if there is any news or rumours about participants. I also would like to know if it is advisable to use a ladder at Le bourget.

Please be advised that the crowdline at Paris Le Bourget is rather short. The chalets will visually block most of the runway

Le Bourget 2009 was a little disappointment for me. Yes the F-18F Superbug was there, but not at static. And yes, my first E-2C-2000 and C-2 COD, but public area was very very crowded. Areal display was far away from public area as well, but best display view was when we got back at the parking: full 360°C display since most of the flying was directly over the parking
Tip if you go for the trade fair: do not go on the last public day as half of the stands will be empty.

Another thing to keep in mind:

Several aircraft will only be there for a few days, and leave before the public weekend, just like at Farnborough.

I don't go to Le Bourget anymore, as the quality during my last visits was getting worse each time.

thanks for all your replies. I am going on friday the 24th to Le Bourget. I was wondering if there are ladder rules like at Duxford and at RIAT

Remember: Le Bourget is a TRADE show with aerial demonstrations. It is NOT an airshow, though on the weekend it may look like one...
Consequently, forget about bringing your ladder inside. It will not pass Security.
Generally speaking, really try to be at the entry point as early as possible to beat at least some of the crowd, because it WILL be busy...
Indeed, accept that some of the visitors will have left by Friday. As a general rule,the last day of a trade show is always slack. Next time you should consider going on the weekend preceding the show, when things are more relaxed.

In my opinion, don't bother going. Aircraft static display is a disaster (aircraft are almost stacked on each other). The airdisplay is to far away and there is not enough space for alle the spectators.

The days it is open at the weekend pre-show are now 14 or more years ago. Re ladders: I'm not sure if it is that impossible to get it past security, as these arrangements tend to change every show. BUT due to the crowdyness at the show you will have more problems at the day than you have fun with the stairs (expect a lot of people bumping in to the stairs and complaining to you about that while carrying it around).

According to the press release (click), scroll all the way down, there should be a Su-30. It doesn't say flying or static. Would be nice ...

Regarding ladders: my dad and I once (6 years ago?) got in while on bikes carrying both a large ladder. It was at the end of the day, so not so crowded anymore. No guarantee this still works. At least at the parking lot a ladder is useful, as the fence is quite high. Good luck!
