Re: Zhuhai Airshow 2010 first impressions
and a few more.....
9. can't get enough of this one
10. JF-17 during its display
11. Another angle on the JH-7
12. I didn't care much for ultralights until today..........
now I am off for the 2nd day. Weather looks more clear so I am hoping for some nice additions.

Re: Zhuhai Airshow 2010 first impressions
Just came back from a wonderful 2nd day at Zhuhai with some nice unexpected visitors. I will post more when I return next Tuesday because then it is a bit easier editing Be prepared!
Very nice visitor in the form of a Y-8 which came to pick up a dismantled FT-5 which arrived a week ago in flying condition
This Z-8 performed the paradroppings every day
taxiway cleaning Chinese style (and yes..... it is true!)

Re: Zhuhai Airshow 2010 first impressions
unfortunately not Dino. The show is from 16-21 november with the last 3 days also open for public. The arrivals already started a week before the first showday so it is very difficult to plan this and I only visited 19 and 20th.No arrival/departure pictures of these rare birds ?
No problems at all Arco. During a show like this the security is like any other (western) airshow. Also during these days outside the fences is no problem, but realise this is just a civil airport. Photographing on airports within China is allowed. Only military object have high security (and you are in very big trouble when caught)I am a little curious about the security situation
You are right Stephan, I looked at the wrong part of the leaflet. The KJ200 is being offered as a platform for all kinds of electronics, including AEW and ELINT. The type shown here is an AEW version for naval patrol.(Small correction to one of your captions: the KJ-200 is an AWACS platform, not ELINT

Actually, going for the c/n 201801 and the serial this is a/c #1 for the Air Force that first flew in March 2005.
The first Navy KJ200 seems to be ready for delivery as 9371.
Also, I thing it is a full AEW&C aircraft with lots of seats inside for the Control function.

Nice! thnx for showing, (any more?)
Why is the air so smoggy outthere? desert dust, mist or mega level pollution?
how many a/c during the show all in all?

The air is very humid there since it is next to the ocean. In fact it is surrounded on 3 sides by water. Right now the temperature is still 26 degrees and with the wrong wind it gets very hazy... unfortunately. But with some better editing I can get rid of most of it.
It is not a big airshow with many aircraft already departed before the public days. The A380 only been here for the business days. I been on Friday and Saturday and counted some 28 military and 25 civilian aircraft, not counting the little flies with engines (ultralights etc.)
