While hoping to start the new year in style by driving around the perimeter of this airfield, it left me somewhat disappointed. As I was in quite a rush, I couldn't explore the airfield as much as I wanted to. I did some spotting from the roads surrounding the field. At the military base I decided to turn around once I came across a sign at a junction which resembled something like 'shoot first, ask questions later' or 'all trespassers will be shot' . A look towards the apron from along the runway was rather distant and the heatwaves didn't make it any easier. Anyway, there was more to be seen. It just wasn't read off...

The residents at the MAS-hangars were noted while stopping along a rather busy road and the Transmile cargo area (where the MD-11s are parked) were simply noted from the deserted parking lot.
