sunny slopes 29/10/2010

Post by Hans Antonissen »

Took my chances on going to the slopes today, with a prediction of sunny spells and a lot of helos away next week this could be the last time this year to shoot with the colorful autumn background.
I wasn't the only one thinking like this (nice meeting you guys). An Apache and Chinook posed for the cameras. Here are some quick scans.

Grtz,

Hans

It was a nice catch today, I was very happy
with the shots of the Apache. The colors of the
leaves are beautiful :) It was nice to meet you
all at the most beautiful base of Holland ;)

Hoi Hans and Alex,
a nice set of pics shown by you Hans :respect: .

After you two left a second Apache (at 14.14 hour) came out to play for about eight minutes. Unfortunately the sun did not shine in that timeframe. It was cloudy.

So in total three slope movements: Q25 (from 11:50 till 11:55), D101 (from 12:52 till 13:06) and Q10 (from 14:14 till 14:23).

And yes it was very busy at the fence. Always nice to see familiar faces and socialize :) .

Grtz,

Edward.

Nice shots !

It looks like my photo session from last Tuesday woke some people up. (This is the time of year - Gilze-Rijen in autumn)

How many people were there at the fence ?? It seems that there was a real crowd today.....

Send in more photos guys !

Cheers,
Iwan

It surely was a good timing to go to the slopes. How many people? About 10 or something?
Hans, Great compositions. Your last Apache could use some more contrast for my taste.

Here's a early selection of my shots:

1. Full sun, full color, full... Apache!

2.

3. This Chinook made a fly pass first, before aiming v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y to the slopes.
Image

4. Sometimes, the trees are very handy for variation.
Image

5. Then the Q-10 came. No sun but still good colors.
Image

6. And did some runway stuff on runway 20 - 02.

Hi all,

Alex asked me to show some pics of today so here some of mine.

Never seen this before but it seems there is also a black Cougar at Gilze  .

Image

Some 10 to 14 photographers were at the fence today at Gilze to hunt for choppers. They got what they wanted. First one was an Apache, the Q25.

Image

Same one, Q25, was there too one year ago.

Image

The second chopper to visit was Chinook D101.

Image

The last and third one was again an Apache, the Q10.

Hope you enjoyed watching.

Grtz,

Edward.

G´day all,

It was a really great day at Gilze today! Circumstances and movements were good. Two Apaches and one Chinook against a wonderful background. Amazing colors, without any doubt the most photogenic season of the year. I did enjoy myself and shot one of my best Apaches photo´s ever.

Nice to have a chat with some of you guys. Socializing makes that time flies
Some great pictures shown allready, here some of mine. Wasn´t easy to pick a few. Every shot looks great with those colours.
Hope you like them.

Edward, the Cougar in the sun is really neat! Good framing on the other three.
Johan, always nice to see new people. I see you've got the navlights two times in your post. I myself was able to get just one over the whole series while I aimed for it.
Thanks guys for the kind words.
