Shanghai Hongqiao Terrace
Hi everyone,
I hear a lot of stories that Shanghai Hongqiao Airport has a viewing terrace for a short time now. Does anyone have more info on this, for example:
-Where at the airport is the terrace located?
-What are the opening hours of the terrace?
-Are there things like vending machines and/or toilets?
-What size of lenze (in mm's) is needed for decent photos?
-Is it outdoors or indoors?
etcetera.
Thanks in advance for your reply

Been to Hongqiao last week,
There is a wonderfull terras, at what looks like a terrific location, spanning almost the entire lenth of the terminal on the upper floor. Go through the security check to gain access to the checkinn area. No ticket check, only a check with a little piece of cloth over the handles of your bag, a check you will soon be familiar with in Shanghai. Behind the info desk there is an escalator going up, you can then cross a walkway above the check inn floor, at the end of this aisle are the locked doors to the viewing terras. No enlish signs about opening info or even that it is a terrace.
There are no english signs or pictograms in the terminal indicating where the terras is, so it might never open up.
Had difficulty locating another spot. ended up taking the shuttle bus to Terminal 1 walked to one of the nearest security gates and placed myself under some trees. Gate not good for photography.
Better to find yourself a spot on finals.
Metro Line 2 takes you from downtown and Pudong to Hongqiao.
