According to the Scramble database this one has been on strength since 2002 at least. So it has possibly been on maintenance somewhere in Europe.

Nice catch guys, thanks for sharing! :D

this helicopter was delivered as EJC-388 on 02 August 2002 to Colombia; first noted with its new registration EJC-3388 in November 2009, also in Colombia. The parent unit of these helicopters is Batallon de Aviacion No.3 at Tolemaida. The Colombians refer to it as a Mi-17MD, which has slightly less powerful engines than their later Mi-17V5 models, which have similar looks.

I guess it has been (or will be) repaired in Russia, maybe after receiving combat damage. Note that the right-hand side-tank appears to be painted in primer.

at 10.00 this morning it still was in the harbour. Didn't see any activity at all... So I think you will catch this helo.
