Every year on the national French holiday a military parade takes place on the Champs Elysees in Paris.
A part of this parade is a flypast made by the French forces.
This year was no exception on that. The day started beautifully with a lot of sunshine, but shortly before 9 the weather started to deteriorate. Thankfully the rain was over when the first flypast started. However, it was still rather dark and the smoke from the Patrouille de France stayed above the city as well. making decent pictures was therefore quite a challenge.
De first flypast consisted of fixed wing aircraft from the various French forces.
Patrouille de France
C-135FR + Rafale
AWACS
Mirage 2000D
Belgian and French Alpha Jets
Aeronavale 100 Ans
Hawkeyes
Aeronavale
CN.235
Dash 8 Securité Civile
It was impossible to take pictures of the second part of the parade, the rain was now really pooring down. We could however see the various helicopters fly past whilst we were hiding for the rain, amongst others Lynxes, Dauphins/Panthers, EC.135s, Tigres, Caracals etc.
The population can meet the troops on various places in the city once the parade is over. This is why various helicopters landed on the Esplanade des Invalides. Luckily the sun was shining when they left at the end of the day.
Caracal from the Armée de l'Air
AS.565SA
EC.135 van de Gendarmerie
SA.365F1
Lynx HAS.2(FN)
EC.725AP Caracal
Tigre HAP
One of the parade's participants was parked at Paris Heliport in Issy les Moulineaux. This Puma was used for the paradrop that concluded the parade.
