Hello everybody!
As promised, some pictures I took at LAX last Saturday on my jet-lag day. Below an impression. I left out the hordes of US airlines. The day started cloudy at Imperial Hill:
LAN being towed to a remote stand:
Too bad, no A380:
Mexicana old:
Mexicana new:
For some reason, I always capture B-6050... Two times at Paris, now at LAX...
Finally the sun broke trough the sea mist... Heatwaves were also an instant problem at Imperial Hill now...
So, thanks to the heatwaves, only take-off shots were acceptable. However, the position of the sun was also becoming a problem now... Almost backlit while facing South.
I have always liked JetBlue
As Frontier
Lufthansa to Frankfurt
Singapore captured with LAX tower
BA to LHR
Air New Zealand on it's way to Auckland
United Triple Seven with nice condensation in the engines
China Airlines
Singapore Cargo on the runway closer to Imperial Hill
Last picture to be taken at Imperial Hill was Emirates. The sun was just not okay anymore
After that it was on to the famous In-N-Out Burger. You're very close to the action there...
Virgin America is also very active at LAX
Not to mention Alaska and Horizon
What a beauty! V Australia extra long B777
Extra long Lufthansa A340-600 from Munich
LAX is really a Boeing field... Lot's of Boeing 747's and B777's like this Malaysia
Air New Zealand arriving
Virgin Atlantic A340-600 from Heathrow
Extra long B777 from Air France
Nice MD-88 of Allegiant
BA from London
Arrivals during the golden hour, the last rays of light of this very nice day
Philippines Jumbo
Toothpaste Airlines... Oh no, Air Canada with that ugly green colorscheme
And the last one of the day was this Arizona One
All in all, I took 294 pictures this day. A lot of them are worthless thanks to the heatwaves, but I had a great day. Nice to be back at LA after being there for the last time in 2000. More pictures this week will follow for sure! Hope you liked them.
Cheers!

Very Very nice pics!
I love the close-ups, especially the Alaska 737.
I have a question:
I am planning a trip to LAX in April next year. "The Hill" is a famous spottnigspot, but where is that one? I was looking for that on google maps, but I see a highway ( Imperial Highway), but where exactly is this spot?

Looking at Google Maps it is not on Imperial Hwy, but on Imperial Ave, the hill is at the intersection of Imperial Ave and Sheldon. The highest point of Imperial Ave, overlooking Imperial Hwy and the location of the old Imperial terminal.
Looking at street view you can clearly see it !
