Together with three friends I spent a very agreeable weekend in France with a variety of aircraft on the menu:
First stop was Le Bourget, not brilliant for photograhy but nevertheless a picture to show the atmosphere late on the Friday evening:
My friends had a reason for this stop naturally. Every number had to be jotted down. My guess is they logged around 500 numbers during this trip...
Next day we went to La Ferté-Alais for the annual warbirdshow:
Lots of replica's of World War I stuff:
For the modern touch the Aeronavale was present as well, with a Hawkeye,
two Etendards,
and two Rafales (We didn't wait for the Air Force example, but saw it leaving and returning at Orly):
Nice old gleaming engines:
A flying scale model of a Focke-Wulf 190:
Unfortunately this Lady wasn't flying anymore:
My favourite aircraft of the event was the Polikarpov, on the ground,
and in the air:
A nice Mitchell to conclude this part of the trip:
After the warbirds we payed a short visit to Orly, a wonderfull spot this but for photography it's best to do this in the morning:
In the playground behind this spot you can find a Etendard IV in reasonably good shape:
Next day we spent at Charles de Gaulle Airport. We started off at this spot, about a five minutes walk from our hotel:
A pity they don't visit Schiphol because the colours of Air Canada are very pleasing:
There was another taxitrack on our left but the light wasn't very good. No reason to skip this MEA A330 however:
Out of our reach this Singapore beast taxied to the far runway but with 400mm I managed to take a (not so brilliant) shot:
A four engined pencil of Qatar:
From a different angle it looks somewhat punchier:
Saudi Arabia was also there:
Wearing almost the same colours as parent company Royal Jordanian:
We were very pleased with this Chinese Cargo 777:
American sent several 767's with winglets:
Ofcourse we couldn't leave without Air France's pride & joy:
TAM brought a plane with a few autographs:
And finally a 777 from PIA:
Weekend France: Warbirds, modern military, civil & a wreck

Re: Weekend France: Warbirds, modern military, civil & a wreck
Very nice report with a very nice mix of civil, military, old and new aircraft.
Looks you had some fine weather overthere.
Nice pic of the flying Polikarpov, also one of my favorites.
Thanks for sharing

I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.
