Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |
Kubinka - April 2010
We went to Russia to see if we could catch some nice hardware during the preparations for the 65th Victory Day.
Rain and only a single movement last Wednesday...
Thursday started better. Less than fifteen minutes after our arrival, the weather flight of two Su-25UB's returned.
One An-12 departed...
... and another returned.
This really nice Kamov Ka-52 came in (but had my ISO accidentally set to 500...)
Two Mi-8's did circuit training for many hours. Too bad heat waves appeared above the runway.
Six other Su-25's departed in pairs.
Those #$%^&* trees...!
Displaying the flag of Serbia
Later that day, a 'new' Su-27 for the Russian Knights arrived from Pushkin, the 6 Su-25's flew another training sortie and Open Skies An-30 87 Black arrived. Friday weather was really bad again and we decided to spent this in Moscow. We paid a visit to the Soviet Army Museum of which I will post some pictures later on.
EDIT: I changed the URL of the pictures to copies at photobucket as bandwidth usage at my website became a bit high.

Hi Rogier,
What 'new' Su-27 for the Russian Knights did arrive?
Anymore details?
Su-27 or Su-27UB? Code?
Or maybe a picture?

Thanks for your comments everybody!
Off-topic: we were also told that the Sukhoi PAK FA prototype was noticed making a test flight from Zhukovsky last Thursday.
Yes, all from outside the fence. Military guys saw us several times, but we had no problems at all. We met a few local spotters after two days at the fence and according to them we were really lucky as we had no visit of a "black Wolga with tinted-glass"... Apparently these show up once in a while to confiscate stuff like storage cards, scanners and even camera's (if you are close to the fence). Standing a bit further at the roadside is no problem according to locals.SquAdmin wrote:Where these pics taken from outside the fence?
Su-27 16 blue sporting Russian Knights colour scheme. It seems this one was not seen at Kubinka for a while. It was said it arrived from Pushkin (near St. Petersburg).cis wrote:What 'new' Su-27 for the Russian Knights did arrive?

The Su on the second picture has IIRC the same emblem as one of the Su-25 units in former East Germany.
Nice pictures!
