Celebrating Queensday at wittmundhafen, 30-4-2010

Post by Maarten »

At 30-04-2010 I visited Wittmundhafen for the first time. Weather turned out to be a grey day, with a little rain.
Don't know if this is ussually for a friday, but the flying activities stopped after the 2nd wave and the runway lights were shut down at around 13:30.
Still I had a great time with some good flying action.. enough of the talk here is a little impression of the morning.

Hi Maarten,

despite the weather still really nice shots.
What I can remember from Hopsten, the same happened on fridays.
They usually stopped flying around noon.

Nice shots yes! I would give them a bit more saturation and contrast, but thats my personal opinion.
For instance shot #9 is very nice, but could have more contrast. The landing skyhawk (#6) is very nice, good timing there!
You perfectly portrayed the spooky atmosphere, very nice! And sharpness is NOT a problem for you is see... ...

BAD WEATHER RULES!!!!!!

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

Despite the weather some nice images Maarten. But
like you're bro said a little bit sharpening would help ;)
You have a great composition on the first one and indeed
a nice timing on those skyhawks :)

It is known that the Germans don't fly on friday afternoon!

Little bit of sharpness.... or contrast i think. They are sharp, rather sharp... i guess its more about contrast. (Which in the end is also related to sharpness and vice versa but yeah)
