This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Despite the lack of sunshine, some pics taken at Akeno turned out allright:

Thanks! It was not my first time over there, but the country keeps me interested (because of all the aspects you mention).MIASCB wrote:BRILLIANT picture Stefan.Stefan wrote:Near Gifu:
This one sums up for me what a visit to Japan is like ; absolute chaos in traffic, buildings, roads, language and people but if you get through it the reward (in the background) ... great photo opportunities of a fantastic Air Force, Army and Navy .... sorry for getting philosofical & emotional.

Stefan

Nice and crisp, Jutter! I am sure Iwakuni will attract more photographers as the new runway has been completed, especially on a day with a southerly wind.Jutter wrote:Iwakuni 14 april 2010

Very nice photos here indeed!!! A great trip and stunning results. Especially the ones from P Terlouw and Arnold!
For padidiver, I would suggest to check either your photobucket account and upload pics in smaller sizes so that you avoid compression or work a bit more with post-processing like colour levels (they all look rather red) and sharpness...
But for all you I appreciate the variety of compositions here! Not just some standard side on shots, but real photos!

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

Re: Japan Tour 2010
Magnificent pictures by all! I´m also looking back at a great trip, with lots of good memories.
Haven´t had the time yet to go through all of my pictures (100+ Gb) properly. But many seem familiair - the images of Menno and Hans show that you´ll always miss out on something (just because you can only be at one place at a time...).
Regards,
Leonard

I know that at least 1 (and maybe as much as 3) Japanese Navy TBM 3 Avenger is preserved as a gate guard in Japan. But I have no clue of its location, other than ön a (Navy?) helicopter field. Was this TBM ever seen (and photographed)during a trip?P.Terlouw wrote:Besides the operational aircraft we also visited some museums located near the airfields. Here some impressions
