Schiphol from the air 10 April 2010

Post by EC »

The Schiphol tower flights planned during the last DSC in March were cancelled because of the weather. Sautrday April 10th Kammair offered the chance for a rematch.
I was on the first flight that was delayed from 10.00 till about 11.15 again because of the weather.
We took off from Rotterdam and proceeded north via Zoetermeer and Leiden towards Zandvoort.
Just north of Hoofddorp we turned into Schiphol, passing over the threshold of 36L, flying over 18/36C and circled around the tower twice. We flew out over Amstelveen and south over Gouda back to Rotterdam.

My plan was not to shoot individual aircraft but I concentrated on taking wider shots of the aprons.
But still you have to take it as it comes, in this case I was seated on the the left side of the plane resulting in the inside of the turn.

Here are some of the results

The silver building in the bottom of the picture is the low cost terminal, all easyjet, FlyBe etc had already left again by 11.30

I hope you liked the mix. I am planning to do a seperate topic on the various scenery we overflew along the way

Many thanks to Kammair for organising this unique flight.

Kind regards
