Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Thanky you for showing your pictures to us.
Please allow me to give some tips. (Otherwise skip till the last line).
Give the pictures some more light. So try +1/3 more light. At the moment I don't have a exif viewer bit I see there is some vingnetting in the picture. Try to fix this in photoshop. And if you have open photoshop anyway try the Unsharp Mask function. You will see it improve you pictures a lot.
Last tip try to show 4 a 5 picture a time. So you can keep people intrested.
But what you did is fine.
Thank you and see you around.

All the above...
Light is not great, suppose its getting a bit darker and your settings are on the edge already. ISO 400 with which camera? Your crops are pretty good "spotterwise" i think, sharpness is max for that lens. Post processing will get you nicer results...

Agreed with most of the above, but not with the quoted statement. The planes are bumping their noses against the frame, I like to see a little more space around the subject (specifically in front of the subject).Andras wrote:Your crops are pretty good "spotterwise" i think, ....
Does that only count for me? Or are there more people agreeing on this?

Marcel

I've seen way more discussions about sharpness and lighting conditions, but no one complaining about those... I tend to think that composition is just as important for a good pic as forementioned subjects, appearently you don't. Just a metter of personal preference, but no reason to stop discussing it.nuckleuz wrote:I saw this discussion a lot of times. Thank you all for your tips. Always learning on the job. Type is Canon EOS 450. Canon objective is a cheap objective (Best deal type, Euro 250, 70mm-250mm).
First picture was taken arround 16.00 (Turkish). Last picture was taken arround 18.20 (Jet2). The weather was clouded. No sun. ISO used 400. I did not make use of Photo shop. Only the crop used is not original. I like Next time there will be pictures by daylight. By the way, I like it when: "The planes are bumping their noses against the frame".

Cool with me, after all it's just a matter of taste.luit0029 wrote: By the way, I like it when: "The planes are bumping their noses against the frame".

Yeah, i meant for the guys that maybe write down numbers and stuff.. Everyone has a diff. taste. I personally like a bit more room, but you just do with the info whatever you want.
Lens is a 55-250 IS, not 70

I don't like it at all. Why not leave a little more room on both sides of the aircraft? Right now it looks really unnatural.luit0029 wrote:By the way, I like it when: "The planes are bumping their noses against the frame".

P.S. I also support taglines with small letters and without bright colours
