If you think terrorist attacks are from recent years, here's some proof that Soesterberg Air Base already was attacked in the 1980's by young Osama. b L.. Spotter Bert Meijerink is just too late to stop him from firing of a SA-01 Treepole...

Image

Unfortunately O succeeded to lauch. Victim is Commodore Wels who was shot down trying to prevent the attack. Luckily he survived the crash of his Spitfire

Great addition Dick!

The group picture is a hard one.

I think the one with a cap was Bert Strubbe and the one on the right is indeed Marcel Kradolfer. Better known as "Pleeborstel".

Keep 'm coming!

Hi Roel, was Henk trying to take a shot underneath the ropes surrounding the Bitte ein Bit Eagle?

Story 12. This one needs some introduction and maybe it's a bit 'over the hill'
In the summer of 1979 Dick, Rick and I went to the Eifel. We had booked a Gasthof in a very, very, very small and desolate German village, called Hütterscheid? The man on the picture was Herr Koos. The "inhaber". He once told us that he had also been to Holland. About 35 years earlier! Hmmm.

Geweldig!

Number 13. The same 1979 holiday. This time around Ramstein. I guess this is Burg Nanstein in Landstuhl with Ramstein AB in the back. Again featuring Dick Wels.

Gelukkig droeg ik een anti-stralingsbril. Kan gelukkig nog wel spotten... :-)
