Dear members,
I am searching on the internet and I couldn't find anything about a F-4B Phantom who was crashed during a mission over North-Vietnam.
It all happens on Feb.20 1967.
The plane took of from the USS Enterprise for a bombing mission in North-Vietnam and crashed, the both crewman onboard of the plane where Air Force Maj.Russell C.Goodman and
Navy Lt.Gary L.Thornton.
I searching for the plane his tail-number and the Squadron he belongs to.
I hope that some of you can help me with to find his registration.
Greetings,
Abe v.d.Bijl.

I found the same serial and unit in an old serial book. Strangly though the excellent serial site of Joe Baugher doesn't mention this serial at all (only the serial block, no specifics for this one).

F-4B-12-MC 150413 0199/152 W/o 20 Feb 1967 Combat loss VF-96, CVW-9, USS Enterprise.
My book does mention this Phantom. ("McDonnal Douglas F-4 Phantom II, production and Operational Data", by W.R. Peake.) It's a nice book for c/n fanatics.
Cheers
