Yes, what a day it was, I must have been standing near you when that beast came rolling down the taxiway! I only wished my pictures were as sharp as yours, even worse, somehow my negatives got lost :@$#: so a few crappy prints are all I have left...

:thx: for posting it, I will not complain if you can show some more of the only operational EB-57 I ever saw.

Wow, really great Dick, the EB-57! :respect: School sucks isnt it? Here some Eagles from 82. 71 TFS was for Coronet Sidewinder II at Soesterberg from 7 untill 23 June.
Two scramble F-15's at the taxi track. Most of the time they made a backtrack at the main runway.

Thanks guys for your commends on the EB-57. Hans, I am pretty sure you were there. Keep looking for the negs! Henk, great scans again. It's looks like they were made only yesterday :worship: Today I found a negative that made me a little sad: 1978 - 32nd TFS' Phantom area coming to an end...

Very beautiful pic if the C-141: This looks like ages ago. Thanks for posting, if you have more, please post them. The scans of the FC F-4E's in another topic were also great!

Especially for you Henk: another common visitor at the end of the seventies, a VC-140B. I think this one is taken on September 13th, 1978. It visited Soesty twice that day as the first Eagles of the 32nd TFS touched down, accompanied by 16 FF-Eagles from the 1st FW Langley AFB.

Not too sharp, but just to remember everyone that some 30 years ago we also had snow and frost. When we almost were frozen from waiting for some nice visitors, the nurses came to the rescue and heated us up again... Yeah, dream on...

At Soesterberg, there was also a secondary runway, the 13/31. If there are people who have pictures of operations from this runway, I will appreciate as they become posted in this topic :) And also pictures of the far east.... ;) Nice topic by the way, with a lot of nice pictures. Thanks for sharing....

Dutch policemen are notorious for their speed checks. Here a Hahn F-4 tries to slow down on the taxi track to avoid a ticket
