A report in the Bangkok Post on 24 December stated that the Myanmar Air Force was to procure 20 further Mig-29 from Russia to add to the 12 of this type acquired in 2001.
China were unsucessful in persuading Myanmar to procure 20 J-10 fighter jets instead of the MiG-29 ordered in this deal.
