We want more! I wish I had such clear shots of Dutch 104s.

Since we should indeed not forget the Germans, who after all had the most Starfighters of all countries:

Seen on the flightline of RAF Greenham Common for IAT83, 23 July 1983.

Now a busy regional airport, but once it was a quiet little field. Münster-Osnabrück staged its annual Montgolfiade Air Show a.o. on 23 May 1988. Participant was this F-104G in its final year of service with the Bundeswehr.

Italians! Nice ones, Henk!
They were at Twenthe as well a couple of times. One occasion was 13 June 1989. This is what we got to see:

That F-104 5-25 over the 'lawn' at Volkel is superbe. :toppie:
I can add two Germans at Jever (TLP open day in June 1982) and a Canadian at Schleswig in July 1985.

Thanks for the additions, Rob! Very good to see those again. Slight correction, the Jever ones were not taken during a TLP, but during TAM'82.

Hans, you're right, of course it was TAM'82.
My static slides turned out okay, but all my show slides are backlit and too dark. In those days I had a rotten camera and used all kinds of slide film, some of which are fading and turning blue now.

Rob, I like that Canadian one a lot! I will never forget their 4-ship display team flying on the 1979 Ramstein airshow. Unfortunately I only have a few dodgy black & white pics of that day... I believe one of them crashed on the Autobahn during another show in Germany.

cheers, Henk Schuitemaker

Does anybody know if there was room enough in the '104 to carry the leading edge protectors when going cross-country?
