Leeuwarden F-16's and a..... in the snow!
Here some shots from. feb. 82. Lots of F-16's, and a starfighter which came to play the rabbit. Frysian flag tail stripes appears for te first time on the F-16's and looked pretty smart. But due to an order from the MOD in the Hague they had to be taken of again.(J-235,J-256,J-263,J-271)

Nice report! Bringing back good memories because at the same time I started spotting at Leeuwarden and the F-104G taxiing out with those colourful dart behind it was certainly my favorite aircraft! It was great to hear this aircraft while on its way to the runway and to see it depart with full afterburner...I will never forget this beauty!

I'm curious to know what type of equipment you used to create these high quality scans.
Btw, which unit does the blue badge represent?

It is the badge of the TCA, or Transitie en Conversie Afdeling, which trained the pilots in their transition from the F-104 to the F-16. Later this duty was taken over by a squadron.Btw, which unit does the blue badge represent?

I looked at the shots and thought, wow there is still snow in Leeuwarden until I scrolled further down and saw a F-104! Great quality of your scans and editing!

Hi .
Thanks for all the positive feedback,I use a CanoScan 8800F ( Like Dino van Doorn). at 2400dpi then I use photoshop CS2 to get the levels and colors right. most of the time I use autocolor but that can be "too much" So then color levels.Sometime the colors are too intense so to lower them I use Hue/satuniation(Kleurtoon/ verzadiging)After that Neat image to get the noise away. The slides were Kodachrome 25 or 64.
Again lots of thanks for the comments.
I love to see all your beautifull slides again!!
