Re: Dubai airshow 2009
Really, really interesting. Always known that Dubai was interesting, but never knew so many interesting planes are coming there. Sure a big difference with the only time I was there in 1998....
Thanks for sharing!
If you have some more info on the hotel I would be very interested in it as well, spending a few days in that hotel sure is worth it!

Re: Dubai airshow 2009
@Erwin, to be sure ground pics are taken at the sure. The Saudi ERJ170 in the air was taken with 500mm (crop factor 1.5). It is located almost next to the Sheraton Deira in Al Batheena.
@Bendavid2, there are no SP's seen till now. The oldest model of the 747 is the Saudi 747-100 arriving today. The A380? I stopped making them, we have 3 a day and everybody posts them when seen. So if I have to make a selection, this one is one of the first to be deselected.
I overheared a speaking between a couple of persons. The new airport is almost finished. Expected opening will be mid next year. They expect that the next show might still be held at the old airport, but I found it not a real valid reason which was given. So if you want to go to Dubai, you have to do it asap. On the show there is, what I think, and scale model of the new airport. If so, it will be an airport with 8 or 10 parallel runways. THe construction is as per below:
7 or 8 terminals with about 12 parking spots each 'haaks' on the runway. Than 2 parrallel runways and this 4 times with again on the outside terminals like above. Spotting will be a bit difficult then I think....

Re: Dubai airshow 2009
The new Jebel-Ali Airport is scheduled to host the 2010 edition of the Dubai Airshow; indeed a compleet new airport, providing new challenges ... good and bad ones ... time will tell how this progress results ...Marco wrote:I overheared a speaking between a couple of persons. Re: Dubai airshow 2009
like I said, the reasons given seemed not valid to me.
Spend today the last day at the Dubai airshow. Tomorrow we go to Shahjah. Today we were early on the show (07:45hrs) in order to read of the otherside of the runway (cargo and GA). There were about 5 BBJ's parked and about 30 bizjets.
