Beautiful camouflaged Phantoms. What about a squadron exchange with JG-71

So there is still, or again, a great spot at the northern crash gate. That is good news!

What a base! I just came back from Japan and did 2 days at Hyakuri last thursday & friday. Lots of sunshine, Phantoms, Eagles and T-4's! Made a lot of great pictures on the runway/take-off/landing, but the taxiway was less good this time due to the high grass and heatwaves...
All in all 8 woodpeckers were flying. Considering that they are losing them fast I was happy to photograph so many. There were more on the flightline, but I'm not a tailspotter.

about those woodpeckers, which ones are they losing, the original RF-4E with camera noses or the RF-4EJ(Kai)'s with the guns and podded systems?
Hans.

There are already a lot of RF-4E's in real bad conditions behind the hangars... we
did read nine of those RF-4E's and we also saw a another WFU phantom in the active hangar.
So the best days are gone for these beauty's...

Both of them! They are down to six RF-4Es and five RF-4EJs. However, the number seems to be steady now. No more recce Phantoms have vanished since March this year, when 913 was seen for the last time.
Now I am even more happy with our very succesful day in April!
Greetings, Paul
