Those are Pall EAPS (Engine Air Particle Seperator). If my information is correct these will eventually be fitted on all current Dutch Chinooks. All six to-be-delivered CH-47F's will be equipped with that system as well. The system is designed to filter sand, dust or salt-particles from the air, and expose of that unwanted material immediately through the pipe underneath the contraption.
