I think that grey scheme on the Cougar doesn't look to bad here under these circumstances, or is it just me?!

Anyway, lovely shots under perfect circumstances!!! Me like them very much!! :-E: :worship:

:drinking: Nice photos indeed!!!
A pitty I miss this... ... But these are great shots!
Are Joost's pics a bit noisy, over sharpened maybe? Or maybe not?

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

Great pictures guys! Too bad our group wasn't allowed to cross over to the first landing zone by the field supervisor after we had chosen the pickup zone of the slingload. We therefore missed the most spectacular part... 2 laptop edited pics for now:

Hi...

Really great shots of active performance during an exercise!!!!
Does one need permission to be at the location and take pictures during exercises like these?
I would like to be there too, when it happens again.
If yes, where can I get a permission to be there?

Grtz.

It is a public area, you don't need permission. Just make sure you read the rules when entering, don't get too close to the helicopters and ground troops or you will disturb their exercise. You never know where they are gonna land (i.e. in case of emergency) so if you stay close to the trees you are pretty 'safe'.
