Anybody know how to get from Belgrade to the show by public transport
I can't see anything about it on the show website (either in English or Serbian).
Thanks.

Oh Kay then.....
There's still no travel info on the show website with a week to go. I've mailed the show to see if they can give me any info but no reply yet.
Let me try another angle. Is there anyone staying in Belgrade city centre with a spare seat in their car? I'd happily contribute to the costs of petrol/parking etc.

Why don't you simply rent a car? That's what I always do. A lot more convenient than trying to find your way with public transport...PIK Flyer wrote:Anybody know how to get from Belgrade to the show by public transport

Well Hans.... thats my last option. I'm travelling on my own this time which makes hiring a car quite expensive. Besides I'm staying in a hotel right in the centre of the city, with no car park, so it would be difficult to park and drive in the city centre.Hans Rolink wrote:

Hans.
Last week at Radom, I stayed in the city and just caught the bus straight from my hotel to the show - cost about 1 Euro and I was in the show 30 mins from leaving the hotel. No traffic jams, no stress!
Thanks Stefan. I'll take the phone number with me.Stefan wrote:

Taxi companies that are listed by Belgrade Airport:
http://www.airport-belgrade.co.yu/code/ ... php?Id=106" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . I guess the airport wouldn't show taxi services they do not trust...

I have the answer now, which I'll paste in below in case its of use to anyone else.PIK Flyer wrote:Anybody know how to get from Belgrade to the show by public transport

As a matter of interest, the answer did not come from the airshow organisers who did not reply to my email or indeed the Belgrade tourist office who also did not answer my mail, but from the PR office of the bus/tram company!
To get from the centre of Belgrade to Batajnica airfield you have to change two bus lines. First, you take bus line 706 or 704 or 84 from station Zeleni venac to the centre of Zemun (Post Office). Then, at the same stop, you take line 706E straight to the Airport Batajnica.
If you need any additional information, please call us on phone number (+381) 11 26 64 853.
Incidentally the aviation museum did not reply to my email with some questions about the museum either, so I get the feeling that email in Serbia is perhaps not as widely used as it is elsewhere.

As additional to the reply above, here is the data for busline 706E. Though in Cirilic, it might come in handy...

and the public transportation map of Beograd (706(E) is in the lefttop corner)

Re: Airshow Batajnica 13.09.2009 - Serbia
On Sunday, 13 September, the visitors of Batajnica air show 2009 will have at their disposal the bus lines of city transport and of Lasta transportation company.
The routes of bus lines “706” and “706E” will be longer, so their terminus will be at “Pinoles” company in Nova Pazova.
Furthermore, bus line 73 will follow its regular route, however this bus line will be more frequent, where the most buses will be available when the guests will be arriving between 07:00 to 11:30 and in the afternoon, from 15:00 to 18:00.
A special shuttle bus will be introduced whose route will be from the railway station in Batajnica (you can reach it by Beovoz) to the airfield gates. This shuttle will be available from 07:00 to 18:00.
Due to expected traffic jam, the traffic on Batajnica road will be under special regime. This means that the traffic will be directed in only one direction, depending on the inflow of vehicles.
Batajnica airfield and its vicinity have a parking lot with a limited number of available spaces, which is why we suggest that citizens use regular bus lines, and to park their vehicles in available parking lots in the city.
