Mobile users
Hi,
Lately I have been researching and playing a bit with a skin ("the looks") for this message board, especially directed at users of mobile devices (mobile phones. pda's, everything with a little screen).
But before I actually start putting a lot of effort and time in it; are there actually people around here who would like to have this feature?
Best regards, Met vriendelijke groet, 此致敬意, Parimate soovidega, Meilleures Salutations, Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Cordiali saluti, 敬具, Всего хорошего,

Re: Mobile users
Could be very handy. Maybe combine this with an RSS feed? I know there has been some experiments with it some time ago.

Hans

Re: Mobile users
Yes please!!
I don't use it now, because the site isn't very PDA-friendly, but certainly will if a specific mobile site is available.
Thanks,
Marcel

Re: Mobile users
Good to see there this many volunteers for testing later on
But to be sure; for now, the mobile skin is only for the message board, not for the remainder of the site; that is longer term (if ever).
regards,
Hans

Re: Mobile users
Hi Hans,
yes, I also use my HTC device a lot to check the MB when 'on the road'. So, I would warmly welcome such a feature from Scramble!
Thanks,
Eric

Re: Mobile users
Oh, one other question though;
Not everybody has an unlimited data limit on their mobile device, and usually they are not very fast either.
Part of this new skin therefore will be that it is a small as possible (and probably boring also ).
But what are your thoughts about grafical stuff like smileys and images, should those be included anyway, or should I "remove" them from the postings (where possible)?
Regards,
Hans

Re: Mobile users
When i watch the messageboard via my mobile phone, it's only for the information. So for me, you can leave it as small as possible! Also to load the pages faster.

Re: Mobile users
My personal thoughts about a mobile site are quite easy: present the information quick and clear and be able to browse easy. If that results in a 'boring' site without a lot of images: so be it ; ).Hans wrote:Oh, one other question though;

Many thanks in advance for the extra efford you put into this 'new' project! ! ! ! ! !
