This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Today I visited Dusseldorf, here some impressions of my day.
Lufthansa regional lining up for duty
HB-IOX
VP-BPF Orenair
S7 Airlines detail, wonder if this is ok
A normal person answered this:
The "part" in the left corner is the air intake of the APU.
F-ORAF Belleair, didn't move all day.

If you mean the "part" in the lower left corner of the S7 pic, then it is not the APU air intake. It's the outflow valve. It's used to control the cabin presssure.StMaartenpiloot wrote:The "part" in the left corner is the air intake of the APU.

Those outflow valves were open on multiple Airbii. Fun to see the pics, I was there that day as well (running in and out of the building because of the rainshowers )

The outflow valves are always open when the aircraft is on the ground.
Kind regards

Sure, but I had to be really careful not to get the aircraft overly lit. Some pictures were: black background, aircraft 'glow in the dark.'StMaartenpiloot wrote:phkza: It made some great opportunities to make nice photos with these dark clouds in the background!

See picture one: what a lousy job Lufthansa did when applying the titles (some need more 'space' than the other aircraft).

I don't see the 'lousiness'? You must take into account that it's sometimes quite hard to make two aircraft exactly the same. Take for example BA. If you take a look around LHR you may see that the waves on the tails differ somewhat.MAS017 wrote:See picture one: what a lousy job Lufthansa did when applying the titles (some need more 'space' than the other aircraft).

I think you're right about the BA tails, that's a difficult job.phkza wrote:I don't see the 'lousiness'? The guys who did the LH titles should be ashamed, just read the drawings while you do your job.
