Yeap. These pictures are all taken outside the fence with apr. 150 to 200 mm. You'll need a five-step ladder and some luck with the security on base. The Gendarmerie usually only checks your passport.

Henk & Hans,
nice pis!

That is an ASMP medium-range nuclear missile. ASMP stands for Air-Sol Moyenne Portée.

The F-15E went around because of very strong gusty crosswinds, because it happended just at the moment of the flare, I looked pretty impressive and wobbly. Because of the go around and the side drift, it formed a rather big cloud of dust. The dutch F-16 behind it had to go around as well. 8) :D

Here a movie can be seen: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9qpzr ... eims_sport" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Its a pity you don't see the impressive dust cloud it created. According to de crew they digged a 15 meter ditch besides the runway in just a few seconds......... :shock: :? :shock: :? The Rafale which was taxing to 25 stopped and had to wait for minutes before the dust cloud disappeared.

Reims "Meeting du Centenaire"

Post by Hornet »

Hi,

Here are some "feelings" of the "Meeting du Centenaire", at Reims (France) Air Force Base
on June 27th and 28th.

Changing wether all the day long and an enduring mist harmful for picture's quality... :(

Nevertheless, a great airshow with an exceptional diversity of flying machines covering
100 years of aeronautic history ! :happy:

Without doubts, an absolute must of 2009 year !

Here we go...

Some lovely compositions. One I really liked was the Dutch F16 going vertical, an unusual but well thought composition.

Well done,
Chris.
