Seppe Airshow 27-06-2009
Some shots from a crowded and nice Seppe Airshow
Spend an hour or so at the field
Sun came out in the afternoon so the beer tasted good (Heineken better as the Jupiler at Volkel )
A Sh#tload of civil things but not many static display boost an Messerschmidt 109

Re: Seppe Airshow 27-06-2009
Some nice pics. Unfortunately I had to go to my work today, otherwise I had dropped by too.
The Messerschmidt is property of the Flying Museum Seppe (although she isn't flying ) Last time I saw her was in 2008: without her right wing attached. Could she be seen entirely today?
Regards,
Sven

Re: Seppe Airshow 27-06-2009
The celebration of 60 years Seppe Airport was a success. Weather was perfect and approximately 10,000 people visited.
Photography of the air show was not easy as spectators where facing south. The display line was 150 meters south of the airport on the other side of the A58 motorway.
Airshow novelty was the fact that the organizers had to put a cardboard plate of about 1x1 meter under the engine of every single visitor’s car parked in the fields. I was told this was an order from the local government. It seems the "milieu-Taliban" is taking over our country.
The air force surprised the spectators with a flyby of a formation of two Apaches with two Cougars. Also KDC-10 T-235 flew by “waving” its wings.

Nice to see the Messerschmitt. It's a Bf 109G-5 of JG 53 although it has an JG3 emblem in the cowling. It's in bad shape but a real gem for the museum.
Does anyone know what plans the museum has with it?

I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.

Nice shots. Do you have some more of the Me-109?

Re: Seppe Airshow 27-06-2009
Good show.
Unfortunately for reason unknown to me, I intended to go to the southern fence after parking my car but was firmly, altough politely, requested to leave the location.
I, however, noted that lot of people stayed there and were not chased by patrolling police cars.
For the Bf-109G, I have been told by the museum'staff that the owner is trying to find a running DB engine to make the aircraft taxiable.
Has someone identified the Apaches and the Couguars? Info would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.
Willy

Some people like to now which AC flew on what day, so do I. It's indeed a bit late, however: this info wasn't posted in this topic before. So Paul: thanks indeed!Belgianboy wrote:Ths Paul for the early reply.
