Green Lightining First roll out - F16 ADF A.M.I.
Hi guys,
finally I can post some pics of first roll out of our new special color: the Green Lightning, a Viper of 18th squadron, 37 wing, based in Trapani, Sicily.
We worked for 5 days in Trapani side by side with 18th squadron crew.Today on June, the 8th, Green lightning and the new special color painted by 10th squadron crew, made their flight to celebrate 1000 hours on Viper flown by the squadron commanders M."MASA" De Angelis and S."CHEERO" Ferrara.
Waiting for In action shot of the event, here we go with first roll out.

I normally am not very fond of special colorschemes, but I reluctantly admit that I actually love this minimalistic but effective paint job!! Very very nice!!

VERY NICE!!!
I'm not that of a fan of special colors too, but it has to be said this is really something unique....and I like the black/green contrast!! So un-Italian looking, as I found most of their special colored aircraft pretty boring in the past.
A real treat to the Falcon-family in my opinion!
Cheers,

The Italians do it again! I think there is hardly an Air Force that has such a strong tradition of special paintjobs as the AMI, and this is another very striking example.
No offense Sjoerd....but I was really surprised by this remark. Here is just a couple of links to pretty recent (or recent pretty) schemes, the list could have been much, much longer:
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Italy--- ... 1390428/L/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Italy--- ... 1392988/L/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Italy--- ... 1370753/L/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Of course they weren't always good looking, but in general I think Italian special designs are pretty good. Most of the time they are focussed on the units' badges, which themselves often go back to the very beginning of Italian military aviation.

Although respect for all the work you guys put in it. It's just not my cup of tea.
It looks like something out of a 50 cent video. To much bling bling
