Nice catches...

But is it my monitor or are the colors a bit strange and are they a bit unsharp?

Best regards, Rob.

Same here.
Another person "trying to avoid using Photoshop" :P
Images could have been rather good, although the camera was a Fuji FinePix S8000FD..

That's my point. You should invest some hours. You will not regret the investment.

Yes, here is an example with very easy result in Photoshop. Check the Phostoshop topic of Sven to see some more tips etc. I took the liberty to change one of your pics, i hope you don't mind (Only 800 x 600)

Curves, WB and straight and sharp.

Good luck

OK, another one then.

Image

Steps performed (very basic indeed)
- colour balance towards somewhat less blue
- removed vignetting (donkere hoekjes)
- black point and white point redefined (histogram repaired, removes greyish cast)
- reduced saturation somewhat
- sharpened somewhat with unsharp mask

Compare that to the original one:

Well, it's a small JPG file and i just wanted to show that with a few clicks it's easy to adjust stuff. With a RAW image things will turn out much better but my guess is that the original file is a JPG as well.

The original is very blue/green and with this example i showed that it is easy to remove a color cast. Maybe a bit towards yellow.

Hans Rolink did a nice job there indeed, with a RAW file you can do very much, at first I didn't edit my pics, but then I saw results with Lightroom, and I started shooting in RAW and adjusting it in Lightroom. Works great!
